Os cuidados com os olhos devem ser rotina, a vida toda. Porém, neste momento que vivemos, a higiene ocular deve ser redobrada. Os olhos são a nossa “janela para o mundo”, mas também podem ser portas de entrada para vírus e infecções.

Pelos olhos podemos ser infectados pelo novo coronavírus e contrairmos a tão temida Covid-19. Um alerta emitido pela Academia Americana de Oftalmologia, aponta que a doença pode atacar as vias respiratórias pelo canal lacrimal, devido a conexão dos olhos com o nariz. Assim, reforçamos ainda mais a importância de cuidar bem dos seus olhos.

Neste artigo, falamos das medidas de higiene e limpeza que você pode adotar para manter os seus olhos protegidos de vírus e infecções.

Cuidados básicos para prevenir o coronavírus

Existem formas de prevenção para todas as doenças transmitidas por meio de secreções respiratórias e infecções. No caso do coronavírus é muito importante ter a higiene como aliada.

Lembre-se sempre de lavar as mãos com frequência, cobrir o rosto com o cotovelo para tossir e espirrar, não compartilhar óculos, colírios, maquiagem, talheres, toalhas e fronhas, e nunca coce os olhos.

Quando falamos dos cuidados exclusivos dos olhos, reforçamos a importância de não coçar os olhos. Nunca coloque as mãos nos olhos, principalmente sem lavá-las. E isso também vale depois de utilizar álcool em gel. O contato do álcool com os olhos pode causar lesões na córnea.

Agora que você já sabe dessa necessidade, chegou a hora de aprender alguns passos a passos de higienizar os olhos, lentes de contato, óculos de grau e filtro espectral.

Como higienizar corretamente os olhos?

1) Lave muito bem as mãos com água e sabão;

2) Você deve remover óculos e lentes de contato para a limpeza;

3) Feche os olhos e use shampoo infantil(que não ardem os olhos) para lavar os cílios;

4) Coloque o shampoo com delicadeza numa gaze ou algodão em disco molhados, e passe sobre as pálpebras e cílios. Não pressione, apenas deslize sobre os olhos;

5) Faça movimentos de cima para baixo (das pálpebras para os cílios) e do canto interno para o externo (do nariz para as orelhas);

6) Enxague o rosto com água corrente, até remover todo o shampoo;

7) Use uma toalha macia para secar o rosto com movimentos suaves;

8) Utilize uma gaze (ou algodão de remover maquiagem) novos para cada olho.

Como lavar os cílios?

1) Lave diariamente os cílios e as pálpebras;

2) Feche os olhos e use shampoo infantil, que não arde os olhos;

3) Faça movimentos leves de cima para para baixo, limpando as impurezas da região;

4) Enxágue os cílios e as pálpebras com água em abundância;

5) Você pode passar o shampoo para um frasco maior e colocar a mesma quantidade de água para diluí-lo.

Como higienizar remelas em excesso?

1) Mantenha seus olhos sempre limpos;

2) Molhe uma gaze com soro fisiológico armazenado em geladeira para limpar os olhos;

3) Passe a gaze molhada no sentido do canto do olho para fora;

4) Utilize uma gaze nova para cada olho.

Como manter os óculos de grau limpos?⠀

A primeira opção é ideal para quem está em casa ou em local onde há água e sabão.

1) A maneira mais recomendada é lavar em água corrente com detergente neutro, aquele que você usa para lavar a louça, ou então sabonete líquido neutro;

2) Lave os óculos por completo: lentes e armação;

3) Para secar, use uma toalha bem limpa e macia.

Se você não consegue lavar com água e sabão no momento:

1) Faça uma solução com água oxigenada 10 volumes (3% peróxido de hidrogênio) e água corrente;

2) Para cada medida de água oxigenada, misturar 5 medidas de água corrente. (Ex: Para cada 100ml de água oxigenada, misturar 500ml de água corrente);

3) Com a receita de uma solução que você poderá borrifar nos óculos de grau;

4) Você pode secá-los com lenços de papel.

Como manter os óculos de grau limpos

Como limpar os óculos Spectral e Irlen?⠀

Estes óculos precisam de um cuidado especial. Existem duas formas de limpeza:

Para lavar as lentes e armação com água e sabão:⠀

1) Molhe os óculos por completo em água corrente;

2) Coloque um pouco de sabonete líquido para recém-nascidos na ponta dos dedos, faça uma espuminha e passe nas lentes, por dentro e por fora. Lave também a armação;

3) Enxágue com água corrente;

4) Seque com pano limpo, de algodão flanelado ou com uma toalha limpa e macia;

5) Para secar você também pode usar lenço de papel ou papel higiênico bem macios.

Para limpar com o spray que acompanha os óculos:

1) Borrife uma pequena quantidade do produto em spray na lente e espalha com o dedo limpo na parte interna e externa das lentes;

2) Secar o produto e lustrar com uma toalha ou flanela (100% algodão), limpa, macia e seca ou lenço de papel de ótima qualidade;

3) Não utilizar papel toalha sob o risco de arranhar as lentes;

4) A limpeza deve ser feita habitualmente, uma vez por semana, (ou quando houver necessidade de maior frequência, até 2 ou 3 vezes).

Como limpar as lentes de contato

1) Lave muito bem as mãos com água e sabão;

2) Desinfete as suas lentes de contato com a solução de limpeza de lentes;

3) Se você utiliza lentes rígidas, use a solução de limpeza nas lentes para esfregar e enxaguar;

4) Se você utiliza lentes gelatinosas basta mergulhar na solução de limpeza de lentes;

5) Depois de limpar as lentes utilize o líquido que está dentro do estojo, para limpá-lo por dentro e por fora;

6) Utilize sempre a solução de limpeza de lentes recomendada. Nunca limpe suas lentes de contato na água da torneira, com soro fisiológico, saliva ou soluções esterilizadoras;

7) Guarde sempre as lentes de contato no estojo com a solução de limpeza de lentes.

Se você tiver a opção, recomendamos o uso dos óculos de grau para substituir as lentes de contato neste período, para evitar o contato das mãos com os olhos. E lembre-se: não permaneça com as lentes por mais de 8 horas.

Como remover a maquiagem

1) Remova sombra, delineador ou lápis de olho com um demaquilante específico, hipoalergênicos, para a região dos olhos (à base de água e óleo);

2) Com movimentos leves, sem pressionar, limpe do canto interno para o externo, depois a parte de baixo. Em seguida, limpe de fora para dentro. Até retirar toda a maquiagem;

3) Para limpar o rímel, utilize um bom demaquilante. Se o rímel for à prova d’água, busque demaquilantes à base de óleo ou utilize shampoo neutro de bebê;

4) Para finalizar, lave todo o rosto com sabonete apropriado e enxágue com água abundante.
